NEWBIGGIN ART TRAIL (2010 - 2011)

Extra artworks were added to the Trail during the early part of 2010 and five more artworks have been added along the promenade in time for the 2011 season.

CLIPPER GALLERY (2010-2011)
A selection of artwork by members of KEAP Creative can now be seen in the Clipper Bar at the Old Ship.

COBLEFISH PAINTING WORKSHOPS (2010)
As part of Blyth Valley Arts Holiday programme two more Coblefish Badge painting workshops were held at The Institute in Ashington on April 6th and the Sports Centre in Newbiggin on April 13th. A third was held at the Dave Stephens Centre in Blyth on June 1st.

WOODHORN MUSEUM EXHIBITION (2010)
Members of KEAP Creative exhibited a selection of their personal work in the Northern Rock Foundation Gallery  at Woodhorn Museum. The exhibition ended on January 10th 2010. See Exhibition pages for further details.

THE GUERRILLA GALLERY (2010)
A portable art gallery that has been making surprise appearances at different venues in the village and will continue to do so all year round. It has already appeared at Newbiggin Arts Forum, Windsor First School, St. Bartholomew’s Church Hall, the Methodist Church Hall, a SENTA meeting at Woodhorn Museum and at Nevin’s Nibbles. Although it is only small it has already exhibited ceramics and paintings and a selection of the celebrated Newbiggin Coblefish.

THE BIG DRAW (2009)
On Sunday 11th October members of the community were invited to make drawings and take rubbings from artefacts around Woodhorn Church with a view to making a community artwork under the guidance of KEAP Creative. This was on display at Woodhotn Church Studios.

HERITAGE OPEN DAYS (2009)
As part of National Heritage Week Woodhorn Church was open on Thursday 10th September from 2pm until 5pm when KEAP Creative ran an art event for members of the community. The Church was also open from 2pm until 5pm on Friday 11th September for heritage tours led by Barry Mead and on Sunday 13th from 2pm until 5pm for access to KEAP Creative’s art studios and exhibition of work in progress. Community work produced on the Open Days was on display in Woodhorn Church Studios.

GENESIS (2010)
Keith Tait, one of KEAP Creative's former members, has had a Diptych on display in St. Nicholas' Cathedral, Newcastle Upon Tyne. Together with the Peace Tree that has been moved from St. Bartholomew's Church, Newbiggin. They remained on display until the day before Palm Sunday.
