Eva Hartley
Eva has been involved with art and artists most of her adult life and has assisted in the organisation of both professional exhibitions and community art events. Her first hesitant steps to becoming a practising artist began only in 2006 when on retiring home to Newbiggin she found the space and encouragement to begin to explore her own creativity. Eva sees herself as the KEAP apprentice and feels privileged to work in an inspirational building with such a talented, committed and creative group of qualified and experienced artists. Her personal work is still experimental and focuses on colour, texture and the attempt to capture a moment or feeling. Eva was born and grew up in Newbiggin. Her professional life was spent in Cheshire working with disadvantaged groups and individuals. She is a qualified social worker, holds a Further & Adult Education Teacher's Certificate and has project management experience. Eva is passionate about her home town and the community in which she lives and believes firmly in art as a means of personal development, community engagement and regeneration.
