KEAP Creative is a Social Enterprise whose aim is to develop the arts in and around Newbiggin by the Sea. We believe that Art is part of that which makes us human and in addition to producing our own work, which is very important to us, we aim to encourage members of our community to participate by looking and doing. We also believe that Art has an important role to play in the regeneration of the community in which we live and work.

All KEAP artists live in Newbiggin by the Sea and have until recently worked from studios in the ancient Grade I listed Woodhorn Church where we held weekly Open Studio events for nearly three years.

Unfortunately, Northumberland County Council, who took over ownership of the building in April 2009, placed it on their list of buildings 'scheduled for disposal' and were unable to offer us a long term future there so we moved out of the building on 29th April 2010.

We will, of course, continue our arts development work in and around Newbiggin, working from our individual studios.
